About Poppy

Poppy is a 1-2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who had quite the journey before making her way to the Los Angeles area. She was rescued from Kern County with injuries to her back legs and escaped euthanasia by the narrowest of margins. Even after facing pneumonia shortly after arrival, Poppy bounced back with incredible resilience. She’s currently waiting for double leg surgery, which will be fully covered, but in the meantime she gets around well on shorter walks and continues to show off her sweet, easygoing personality. Poppy gets along with absolutely everyone—she is dog-friendly, fantastic with people of all ages, and her calm nature suggests she could adapt to living with cats as well. She’s already house trained and is a gentle presence in any environment. Fosters will be fully supported with supplies. Poppy is ready to bring calm confidence, love, and some much-needed company into a new home. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
