Here’s what you need to know: **Recommendations:** - Puppies: Children should be at least 6 years old - Small breeds (e.g., chihuahuas, yorkies): Children should be at least 8 - Herding/working breeds: Children should be at least 12 **Procedures:** - Must be 21+ to adopt - No adoptions to college students - Physical home visits only (within 2 hours of Shelby, NC) - Fenced yards required for certain dogs - Apartment living approved on a case-by-case basis - All current pets must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vet care - Adoption contract required — if you can’t keep the dog, they must return to the rescue **Steps to Adopt:** 1.
