About Jeff
Contact my foster at: goodmanmj078@icloud.com Jeff did great riding in the car. He was a little hesitant to jump in, so I picked him up the first time when leaving the shelter and no problem there. Once we were getting in and out of the car more throughout the day, he would jump back up on his own. We went to freedom Park and independence Park. He was nonreactive to the sounds of children, bicyclist, other dogs going by, people running around us and talking on their phones. I took him to the pet store and after a bath he had some treats. He also had a pup cup at milk bread, and met some new friends. My only notes on the bath are that if anyone bathes him, I would use a cup of water and fill it to rinse them off. The spray hose seems to trigger some trauma for him or heβs just not used to it and scared of it. I did not use the hose to rinse. Finally, after a full day and a bath, I brought him home and fed him some dinner so he could meet my dog and they could go on a parallel walk together with a slow intro on neutral ground. They both did great with that. There was some crying at each other at first, but then they both walked and sniffed. Jeff does not seem to know what to do with most toys, but he was very responsive to treats. And affection. He seems very sweet and curious Iβm just not sure he has ever been allowed to be a dog before. He pulled a little at first once leaving the shelter, but we went out to the grassy area so he could do some business and once we got out of the car, I used the slip lead to make more of a shoulder harness that he could not pull on and he did really great. I even had a professional Dog Walker come over and help me walk him with my dog and he said he was practically Close to being leash trained. - seems housetrained - seems dog friendly/neutral but slow intros always recommended! - very people friendly - walks nicely with front clipped harness and collar - knows sit and takes treats gently - gorgeous eyes on this photogenic boy!
