About Marcellus
Click apply to start the adoption process. Marcellus is a 4-5-year-old long-haired ex-street cat who wears the badge of a life spent outdoors—scars, rips, and a perfectly imperfect look. Despite his rough beginnings, he has blossomed into a love-starved, gentle teddy bear, still adjusting to the tranquility of indoor life after months of nourishment, medication, and endless affection. Marcellus is a lap cat at heart—he’ll gently pull your hand in for cheek rubs, purring and seeking connection, and his playful streak shines through when it’s time for ribbon or kicker toys, or sampling his favorite catnip. A quiet, stable home suits him best; sudden noises or bustling environments make him uneasy, and young children might be overwhelming. He’s remarkably gentle and thrives with other friendly, social cats, and could coexist peacefully with a calm, respectful dog. Marcellus would do best in a cat-savvy home with confident caretakers who understand feline body language and are willing to coax him out with patience and love. Though FIV positive, Marcellus can safely live with other cats, and with attentive, indoor care, he can enjoy a happy, healthy life. Approved applicants can meet this floofy boy and discover the joy of giving him his forever home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Marcellus is currently in the care of Cheshire Cat Rescue & Sanctuary.
