About Rex
Rex is a striking, large neutered male with a bright energy that shines the moment you meet him. This athletic mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Black Mouth Cur has tested negative for heartworm and is up to date on his vaccinations. Energetic and playful, he’s always up for a game of fetch—though he’s still working on retrieving the ball back. He walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and already knows a few basic commands. Due to his size and exuberance, Rex isn't recommended for homes with small children, but he should do well with older kids who understand big, bouncy dogs. At the shelter, he hasn’t gotten along with other dogs, though animals often change in a stable home. With ongoing training and consistency, he’s got the potential to become a loyal and impressive companion. Rex is 2 years old—and born in early February, making him an Aquarius, if you keep track of that sort of thing. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Rex
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rex's mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Black Mouth Cur does best in homes with plenty of space to move, such as a house with a secure yard. They’re adaptable but won’t be happy cooped up in a small apartment without frequent outdoor activity.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Both Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Black Mouth Curs need room to run and play. Rex will thrive with access to a fenced yard or regular trips to open spaces where he can burn off energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Rex’s breeds are generally good with children, but since he is large and energetic, he's best matched with older kids who are comfortable around big dogs.
