About Dobie
Dobie is a striking brindle and white mix with the kind of presence you notice right away. At around 75-80lbs, he’s a big, athletic boy who greets the world with bursts of playful energy, contagious enthusiasm, and a knack for making you laugh. Born in June 2023, Dobie is a Gemini—no surprise he’s both energetic and curious, and just as likely to cozy up after a brisk walk as he is to chase a toy across the yard. Food is a powerful motivator for Dobie; he takes treats with a gentle touch and picks up new routines quickly. He loves to jump and hug if given the chance, but with some structure and training, those manners will improve in no time. Dobie is currently living at a facility with other dogs, although he’s made it clear that he’d much rather have his home (and humans) all to himself. He’d thrive as the only dog in the house. Dobie is house trained and already neutered, and his vaccinations are current. He’s ready to be someone’s loyal walking partner and a true buddy for everyday adventures. He gets along with cats, but not with other dogs, so a home where he’s the star is ideal. If you’re looking for a big-hearted, smart, and playful companion in Chicago, Dobie is waiting for you.
