Demi’s first year wasn’t kind to her, but you wouldn’t know it at a glance. She’s a Belgian Malinois mix who nearly didn’t make it out of puppyhood—her beginnings were rough, with neglect that left her barely able to walk. It was only the stubbornness of one determined rescuer who finally managed to get Demi and her brother out. With care and patience, Demi bounced back. She now moves everywhere at full speed, except when treats or dinnertime call. She has a short black and white coat, and at just over a year old, she’s thriving in foster care. Demi loves all kinds of people and dogs and truly comes alive in a busy, playful home. She’s good with older kids and enjoys the company of other dogs, though she’s a little too enthusiastic around cats. Leash and crate training are coming along, and she’s mostly house trained, though sometimes gets distracted when playtime takes over. Demi isn’t part of a bonded pair and could do well as an only pet or with a canine companion. She’s looking for active adopters who will make her part of the family and keep her busy and included.
