About Russell

Russell came into rescue with his sister Demi after surviving a tough start, but he hasn’t looked back since. Now about 17 months old, he’s grown into a healthy, strong Belgian Malinois mix with reddish and cream coloring and a short coat. His early life was rough, losing his mom and almost succumbing to illness, but a determined rescuer helped turn things around with some TLC. Russell now thrives on activity and enjoys the company of dogs of all sizes. He's met cats but is a little too excitable to be considered truly cat friendly. For people, he’s welcoming and happy—older children suit him best due to his energy and love for play. Russell is crate trained, leash-savvy, and mostly house trained, though play sometimes distracts him from getting to the door on time. He isn’t strongly bonded with his sister and would be content as a solo or companion dog in an active household that wants to include him in family life. He’s up to date on vaccines and is neutered. Russell is based in Warren, RI and would love to meet a family ready for a fun, motivated friend. Click apply to start the adoption process.
