About Trooper Dec
Trooper Dec is a goldendoodle mix who’s spent quite a while at the rescue, waiting for the right match. He’s clever, endlessly curious, and keeps busy—give him a toy and it won’t last long. Trooper explores the world with his mouth, so a household willing to commit to consistent crating is essential. He thrives with other dogs and really needs canine company to feel confident and settled. Trooper does well with daily walks and hikes, but he isn’t built for marathon distances. His energy is active and he likes to stay on the move, but Trooper is not for homes with shared walls since he can be quite vocal when alone. He hasn’t lived with kids and would probably do better in an adults-only household. With people, he takes a minute to warm up but soon accepts affection and, once he trusts you, he’s as loyal as they come. A secure fence isn’t a must if you’re prepared for leash walks, but he’s always had one and would appreciate the extra freedom. Trooper’s spirit really shines in a patient home that understands his quirks and wants a real companion. He’s ready for a fresh start in Pacolet, SC. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
