About Ketchup
Ketchup is a large, white and black American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bull mix rescued from the shelter. Heās got a bit of Husky, Chow, Australian Shepherd, Bulldog, German Shepherd, Neapolitan Mastiff, and more in the mix, so heās a true original. Ketchup can be shy on first meeting, but with patience, he becomes a loyal, affectionate companion. He settles easily in quiet environments and prefers soft, carpeted floors where he can stretch out and relax. In his previous foster home, he showed great manners: heād sit by the door to go out, waited calmly as people ate dinner, and gravitated toward his own bed or the couch to nap. Ketchup isnāt reactive with other dogs on walks and does well when walking alongside kennel mates. He didnāt adapt fully to the male in his last home and seemed uneasy in the dark, so he could need a little extra reassurance in new situations. Itās not clear how he feels about cats or children, so any introductions should be slow and careful. He is looking for both a foster and a permanent home. Ketchupās ideal setup is a calm, gentle household ready to show him that the world isnāt so scary. Give this velvet-eared pup some time, and he'll pay it back with his trust and love.
