About Kara Bear

Kara Bear has settled into a quiet, gentle routine after surviving some very tough years. This large, red-haired mix of Cattle Dog and Boxer has a calm presence—she’s housebroken, rarely makes noise, and leans toward the couch potato lifestyle. Kara Bear has a strong affection for her people and will loyally follow you from room to room just to be close. She gives her all to anyone willing to show her daily affection, and she never tries to take over your whole bed at night. Her history, though, is tough. Kara Bear suffered heavy abuse early on and reacts to unfamiliar objects or raised hands with fear. Even just using her name too sternly can send her hiding; kindness and gentle correction are key. Kara Bear was pulled from a high-kill shelter, only to end up with a hoarder for three years, largely ignored in a dog run. When finally freed, she carried anxiety and tended to shut down around chaos or unpredictability. If frightened, she just needs a gentle voice and time to remember she’s safe again. While she does get along with other dogs, she’s wary of unpredictable behavior, so a calm male dog friend suits her better than most female dogs. Kara Bear is perfect around cats—safe to leave her sleeping next to them without worry. She hasn’t been around children, and due to her sensitivity, a child-free home is best. She just wants someone patient who will shower her with love and daily reassurance. As an Aries, she carries quiet courage beneath her reserve. Give her the gentle life she’s always deserved. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
