About Kara Bear
Start your journey together! Apply now. Kara is the definition of a gentle soul. She gets along beautifully with cats and is perfectly housebroken—a true delight in any home. Kara is incredibly calm and quiet, enjoying her days as a devoted couch potato who will never crowd your bed at night. She thrives on affection and loves to follow her favorite people from room to room. Despite her calm nature, Kara’s past has left her sensitive to certain situations. She suffered significant abuse earlier in life, so she may cower if you raise your hand or shy away from unfamiliar objects. Correcting her is easy—just a gentle, calm voice is all it takes—but too harsh a tone can be overwhelming for her. After surviving neglect in a hoarding situation, Kara is looking for a stable, loving environment where kindness and patience are the norm. She has some anxiety issues and may withdraw when scared, but she responds well to reassurance and gentle words, quickly remembering that she is safe. Kara does fine with other dogs once she has gotten to know them, preferring the company of mellow males, and she is absolutely wonderful with cats, happily sharing space with them. However, a home without children is best, as their unpredictable movements and noise may frighten her. Kara’s journey has been difficult, but her loving and loyal temperament shines through for those willing to offer her the steady home she deserves. She’s longing for a family who will cherish her every day and help her rediscover the joys of companionship and security. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
