About Max
Click apply to start the adoption process. Max and Lulu are a charming bonded pair of Chihuahuas who were joyfully reunited after being rescued separately from a local shelter. Lulu thrives on companionship, warming up quickly and loving to cozy up in your lap, while Max is more reserved and shy, requiring a gentle and patient adopter to help him feel secure. Typical of their breed, both pups adore sleeping under the covers alongside their favorite human. They are now fully vetted and their skin has healed beautifully, making them ready for a loving home. Max, around 2 years old and 8 pounds, is currently being treated for a low positive heartworm result and will benefit from someone who can continue his care. Both Max and Lulu are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and have had a dental cleaning. For their safety, these tiny friends need a home without large dogs, small children, or unfenced swimming pools. The rescue is committed to matching each dog with the best applicant by carefully reviewing applications, conducting vet checks, home checks, and meet-and-greets. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Max
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chihuahuas are best suited for indoor living environments and are ideal for apartments or homes where they can be close to their humans. Their small size makes them adaptable as long as they are kept warm and safe.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahuas do not require large yards. Short walks and playtime indoors or in secure outdoor spaces are usually sufficient for their exercise needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahuas can be suitable for homes with older, gentle children. Due to their small size and delicate nature, they are not a good match for homes with very young or rough children.
