About Fernie
Fernie is a beautiful, large mixed breed girl, about 2 to 3 years old, with a short tricolor coat. Sweet and loving, Fernie stands out for her gentle nature—she even lies down to greet smaller dogs. After being found in rough shape, underweight, and recovering from ingesting a toy, Fernie bounced back on a special diet to help her keep on healthy weight. She’ll need to stick with this special food for life, so her adopter must be prepared for ongoing diet management. Fernie thrives in a home where someone is around much of the time. She gets along well with other dogs and does well living with them. Since she has a habit of eating stuffed animals, a house with kids older than 12 is recommended. Fernie walks well on leash, rides quietly in the car, and is completely house trained. She’s reliable, adaptable, and looking for a fresh start with a family who understands her needs. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
