Lilly of the Valley’s story is a reminder that some cats really do need the safety of being indoors. She was originally trapped on a Bronx street and, after being spayed and vetted, ended up back with a neighbor who insisted she belonged to them. Unfortunately, after being let outside again, Lilly ended up back on the streets and was later rescued and tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLV+). She recognizes her rescuer, is affectionate, and has a calm, warm energy about her. At around 2 1/2 years old, Lilly still has plenty of love to offer. She must be adopted as a single cat or with another FeLV+ feline. Good care, an indoor environment, and regular wellness exams will help her live a happy life, though FeLV+ cats generally have shorter lifespans.
