About Stella
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Stella, a 7-year-old black and white female Great Dane, is ready to shine as the star of your family. Her name means 'celestial star,' and she truly sparkles in many ways—she’s house trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is perfectly content relaxing in her crate. Stella excels at commands like sit, paw, down, crate, leave it, and drop it, demonstrating her dependability and gentle nature in the home. She’ll let you know if someone approaches—giving a polite bark at the doorbell or when a car arrives—and she loves going on car rides for new adventures. Stella formerly lived with two small dogs and was well-behaved around them, though her feelings about cats and children are still unknown. This sweet senior girl came into rescue after her previous owners faced the challenge of managing her chronic ear infections, skin allergies, and a difficult surgery called Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA). Stella has endured much, including time in a cone and several treatments, but her resilience shines through. Since coming into rescue, she’s received the medical care she needed and is delighting again in quiet comforts, like squeaky toys and peanut butter treats. She appreciates being fed in her own private spot, preferring not to share her meals, and is not fond of thunderstorms. Medically, Stella has been diagnosed with very mild Chronic Valve Disease (CVD) – ACVIM stage B1, which means no medication is required currently except for monitoring with an echocardiogram and blood pressure every six months. Dogs at this stage often show no symptoms and can remain stable for a long time. Stella is part of the Golden Rewards Program, offering senior dogs like her for a reduced adoption donation. Do you have room in your heart and home for Stella? She’s ready to take on a starring role and bring her quiet affection and loyalty to your life. Start your journey together! Apply now.
