About Snow

Click apply to start the adoption process. Snow is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix believed to be around 1–3 years old. At first, she can be shy, but once she feels safe, her affection blossoms and those soulful eyes will capture your heart. Snow is currently about 80 lbs and still working to reach a healthy weight after coming to Colorado with her sister Rain; both girls arrived very underweight but are now thriving in their foster home, growing stronger every day and eager to find loving families. Her background is a bit of a mystery, and it’s clear she wasn’t socialized in her early life. Each day, her confidence grows, and she’s ready for a family to show her just how wonderful it is to be loved. Snow thoroughly enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely thrive with a confident canine companion, though this isn’t required if her adopter can shower her with plenty of love and reassurance. A true kennel lover, Snow finds comfort and safety in her crate—she sleeps soundly through the night and likes her naps during the day as well. Her love for food makes it easier to earn her trust, and she’s making great progress in her foster home, which is run by a dog trainer specializing in helping shy and unsocialized dogs. She is learning potty training, dog socialization, kennel training, doggie door use, and is beginning with leash and car training. Walking on a leash is currently intimidating for Snow, so her forever home will need a securely fenced yard while she builds confidence. She’s thriving with lots of other dogs in her foster home and is very dog-friendly. While she hasn’t lived with cats, her foster believes she could do well with them with proper introductions, and she may also be a good match for families with older or calm children. Snow deserves patient, kind adopters willing to help her continue to grow. Her foster requires at least one paid (discounted) training session that focuses on building confidence and supporting rescue dogs in transitioning to new homes—this helps both dog and adopters bond and succeed together. Training discounts are provided and the foster is located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
