About Rain

Click apply to start the adoption process. Rain is a beautiful Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix, estimated to be around 1-3 years old, and her gentle spirit will completely win you over. While she is shy at first, Rain quickly warms up to affection, and her soulful eyes are sure to melt your heart. Currently about 80 pounds and still working toward a healthy weight, Rain arrived in Colorado with her sister Snow, both underweight and in need of some TLC. Now thriving in her foster home, Rain is blossoming and learning every day that humans can be kind and loving. She came from a background where she didn't receive much socialization, but each day her confidence grows. Rain would be delighted to have a confident canine companion in her new home, though it's not required if her adopter has plenty of love and time to dedicate to her. She absolutely loves her kennel, sleeping peacefully through the night and enjoying naps during the day. Her love of food also makes it easy to work with her and build trust. Rain’s foster home specializes in rehabilitating shy, unsocialized dogs, and she is progressing with potty training, dog and human socialization, kennel training, and even learning to use a doggie door. Leash walking is a challenge for her and currently causes anxiety, so a home with a fenced yard is a must. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and would likely do fine with cats if introduced gradually. Older or calmer children would also likely be a good fit. Adopters will need to commit to one paid (but discounted) training session with Rain's foster mom, who is experienced in working with rescue dogs to build confidence and teach them to trust. This session is designed to teach adopters how to support shy dogs in their adjustment to a loving home, ensuring long-term happiness for all. Rain is just waiting for someone to recognize her potential and give her the chance to shine as a beloved family member. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
