About Gizmo

Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today. Gizmo is part of a bonded pair who must be adopted together—he's an adorable, quiet 12-year-old Terrier mix who is mostly blind and depends on his sibling Bonnie for reassurance and guidance, especially outdoors. He thrives on daily routines that include careful feeding, ensuring enough water intake, supervised outdoor exploring, and diligent administration of his vital eye medication. Although he sometimes snaps or growls at medication time due to past jaw pain, snacks and patience help him work through his fears, and he is likely to improve over time. Gizmo is joyful to watch as he explores the house and yard—he especially loves rolling in the grass! Both dogs sleep together in a large crate, which keeps them safe at night since Gizmo is prone to wandering into furniture or cords; he can get pad trained once he learns the placement of large pads. A secure, fenced yard is essential as he cannot safely use a doggy door. Recently, he underwent successful dental work and surgery for a thigh tumor and eye mass, so he's feeling refreshed and ready for his next adventure. Both he and his sister love treats, especially anything cheesy or icy. If you have a big heart and can provide the care and environment they need, come meet Gizmo and Bonnie at Aurora. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
