About Roxy

Roxy lived through things no dog should ever face. Born in Idaho, her first years were spent not as a family companion, but as a chained and neglected breeder. She was bought for children who quickly lost interest, left mostly alone outdoors through harsh Idaho weather, and had to fend for herself when food was scarce—sometimes chasing mice to stay alive. Her body tells the story: scars from a chain left embedded in her neck, and the toll of seven pregnancies, many unplanned, from encounters with stray dogs. Most of her puppies either disappeared or didn’t survive. She never lost her gentle, hopeful nature, even when kindness was rare. After finally being rescued, Roxy got the medical attention she needed, including surgery on her neck and being spayed so she’ll never go through another unwanted pregnancy. Now, she’s started to blossom. She greets neighbor dogs with her big Husky "talk," enjoys walks, and craves attention. Her leash skills are a work in progress (she’s strong and still learning), but she’s eager to please. Roxy needs a home with people who understand Huskies, can provide room to move, and will let her finally relax into a life where she’s valued and loved. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Roxy

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Roxy, as a mixed-breed Husky, thrives in a home with space to move and people who understand the breed’s activity level. She'll do best in a house with a secure yard, not an apartment.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Huskies like Roxy need ample outdoor space—ideally a securely fenced yard—to burn off energy and satisfy their instinct to roam and explore.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Huskies can be excellent family dogs for active households. With patience and proper introductions, Roxy could do well around older children who understand how to interact with a strong dog.
