Zara is energetic and goofy, always up for a chase and never saying no to a cuddle or a kiss. She loves her crate, enjoys a good chew on bones and sticks, and has a knack for sneaking socks back to her favorite corner. While Zara is initially wary of new people—often barking at first—she opens up to friendly, affectionate, and sweet companionship once she gets to know someone. She loves playing with dogs and lives with multiple pups and cats, but she can be selective with her canine friends. Cats pique her interest for play, though her enthusiasm sometimes confuses them. Zara does best with slow introductions, patience, and consistency. She’s playful, enthusiastic, and rides well in the car until she spots people or dogs out the window, which brings out her big bark. On walks, she reacts to people, dogs, and wildlife, and has been making progress in managing her reactivity with help from her dog daycare buddies. Zara is surprisingly affectionate once she trusts you and knows several basic commands already. She needs a home with regular exercise, mental challenge, and someone who understands how to help her feel secure. Zara’s ideal adopter is an experienced handler willing to provide the guidance and structure she needs to thrive. A dog friend, especially a confident male, would likely help her adjust, but she could be happy as your only dog, too.
