About Pluto

A few months back, Pluto was in a noisy pound in Connecticut where he'd been waiting almost a year. That wasn't right for an older dog, so we moved him to a foster home. Now, after some steady time soaking up home life, Pluto is ready to find a real family. Pluto is about 8, but don't think for a second he's slowing down. He likes his walks, gets a kick out of toys, and his ball is the best thing ever. He's happy with other dogs—ideally those that don’t mind a little extra enthusiasm. He likes kids but is better suited to those 10 and up since he’s strong when excited. Cats are likely a no, since Pluto gets very interested in smaller animals outside. He’s still catching up on the basics: learning the leash, working on house training, and picking up commands. He’ll need someone patient as he figures out home routines. He isn’t wild about the crate, though he’ll manage when necessary. Pluto wants to be with people—he’d do best if there’s someone around much of the day. If you appreciate the company of seniors and have space on your couch, Pluto’s a loyal companion looking to settle in. Born on July 2, Pluto is a Cancer, so it’s no surprise he loves family time. Questions about Pluto

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Pluto's breed mix, including American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bull Terrier, often does well in homes that offer structure and plenty of human interaction. He would do best in a home where people are around much of the day and where he can relax indoors with his family.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Pluto enjoys daily walks and playtime, but a large fenced yard is not strictly necessary. A yard is a bonus, but regular exercise and play are more important for him.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

This breed mix can be good with older, respectful children. Pluto himself is suited for homes with kids over 10, as he may knock over younger kids by accident due to his size and enthusiasm.
