Maverick is a strikingly handsome young boy with a heart full of hope and a deep desire to connect. We recently saved him from what he called home.....a muddy, isolated enclosure surrounded by trash and fence wire, with nothing to see but reminders of what he is missing. He is now with one of our volunteers and although he is still unfortunately living outdoors, it is a much better setup with the ability to run in a fenced yard, be walked, loved on and working on training. Maverick craves affection and purpose—he wants to be guided, to learn, and to belong. He walks beautifully on a leash, picks up new cues quickly, and shows such eagerness to please. Maverick is not just ready for love—he is asking for it with every glance and every wag of his tail. He is in need of a foster or permanent home, where someone can nurture his potential and give him the life he longs for. Maverick is ready for his story to change—he just needs someone to help turn the page. While Maverick loves every adult he sees and has done well with other dogs though not off leash yet, we have seen signs he might not do well with small children. Older teens would probably be okay but we suggest no small children. Meet and greets are also done prior to foster or adoption
