Meet Steve - a sweet, gentle giant that is ready for his chance at forever. Steve has made tremendous progress since being with us. He came to us after being very sick and shut down at the shelter. Steve is now in good health and full of life! Steve is an amazing boy who enjoys playing with toys and splashing around in the water. He knows basic commands and enjoys showing off his skills. Steve walks well on leash with some mild pulling but is correctable, and responds well to a strong, confident handler. He is crate, potty and house-trained. Steve is weary of new people, but quickly warms up once he trusts you. He's a very affectionate boy loving to give you slobbery kisses and receive belly rubs. Steve is an extremely loyal companion once he feels safe and you've earned his trust. Steve would do best in a home that can provide security, structure and routine. He needs a strong, confident handler that can provide him guidance and let him know he is safe. Steve could be dog-friendly with very slow, proper introductions after ample decompression time.
