Beau is a 6 year old hound mix who weighs about 65lbs with an irresistible mix of energy, smarts, and affection. Whether he's splashing around in the pool like he’s found heaven, leaping high for a game of fetch, or curling up by your side after a good romp, Beau brings his whole heart to everything he does. This boy loves life, and he loves his people even more. He would really like a home where his humans work from home, and he can be with them all. the. time. - that's his favorite! He’s incredibly athletic and curious, always eager to explore, play ball, or show off his impressive problem-solving skills. He’s got the basics down: sit, recall, gentle treat-taking and is responsive to training, especially when he knows he’s part of the team. Beau is smart, intuitive, and sensitive to his environment, which means he thrives with structure, patience, and a supportive home. While Beau gets excited around other dogs and has done well with some mellow canine companions, he can be dog selective and is currently working on resource guarding. Because of this, we believe he’ll be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can get all the love and attention he craves. He'd do best with older kids who understand dog boundaries and in a home with a fenced yard so he can run, sniff, and explore to his heart's content. Beau was rescued from Mississippi in 2021 and adopted into a home with young children, but the busy household ultimately overwhelmed him. He’s now looking for a forever family that understands him and can give him the balance of activity, companionship, and calm he needs. Beau is loyal, loving, goofy, and incredibly eager to connect with his people.
