About Jack
Jack is a 5-year-old Lab/Shepherd/Pit mix weighing in at about 95 pounds and looking for a quieter home after his owner had to move. He’s a big, sturdy dog, but has an incredibly gentle and goofy soul. Jack is deeply devoted to his people—if you want a dog who’ll stick by your side, lean in for affection, and constantly watch you with adoring eyes, he won’t disappoint you. He especially loves chasing tennis balls, being right next to those he trusts, and finding comfort in plenty of space where he can stretch out and breathe. Jack gets anxious in cramped environments, so he’s best suited for a calm home with room to roam. His size and playful energy mean small children probably aren’t the right fit, but adults or families with older teens who want a loving, easy-going companion will find a lot to like here. Jack’s former owner is heartbroken about rehoming him and has asked us to find an adopter who’ll give this sweet-natured dog the steady home he deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Questions about Jack
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Lab/Shepherd/Pit mixes like Jack do best in homes where there's space to move and relax. He's a large dog and will thrive somewhere calm and stable, ideally with a yard or larger indoor spaces.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
With his energy and size, Jack benefits from regular access to outdoor space, like a fenced yard or nearby parks. He needs room to play, stretch his legs, and burn off energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Jack's mix can be gentle, but given his size and the anxiety he feels in hectic environments, he's not recommended for homes with small children. Older kids or teens may be fine provided they respect his space.
