About Mittens
*** Currently in a foster home. Meet & Greet will be arranged with an approved adoption application*** Hi there! My name is Mittens, and I’m a gentle, orange-and-white tabby boy—about 3 years old. I was found wandering alone through a neighborhood, without a collar, tag, or microchip. Despite my rough start, I’ve remained a quiet, affectionate soul who adores curling up in a warm lap and soaking up gentle pets. I thrive in calm environments, so I’d be happiest in a peaceful home without small children or dogs. I’ve tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLV), a virus that affects roughly 2% of cats in the U.S. While it’s not contagious to humans or other species, I do need to live with fellow feline leukemia-positive cat friends—or be your one-and-only. The shelter staff would be happy to answer any questions you have about my condition and care. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted companion with a soothing purr and a whole lot of love to give, come meet me. The moment you offer me your lap, my little purr motor will kick into gear—and I’ll be yours.
