Smokey landed at The Animal League with two other cats after his previous people decided they simply had too many pets. Adjusting hasn’t been easy. These days, Smokey keeps to himself in a wall cubby, coming out just a little to let volunteers stroke his body with a wand or offer some brushing. Touch to the head isn’t on the menu—at least not yet. He gets along just fine with other cats in the room, showing no fuss or drama. Smokey will thrive in a quiet home with someone patient who will let him settle in at his own pace, helping him feel safe enough to show his true personality.
