About Bailey
Bailey’s story almost ended before it began. When the clock ran out at a San Bernardino shelter, he was one of the few lucky dogs to leave alive, thanks to a resourceful volunteer who got him safely to the rescue instead. Bailey is a medium, tricolor shepherd mix—tall and lanky at about 43 pounds, but manages to look larger. He’s young, playful, always happy, and shows a goofy side that people instantly like. Bailey seeks companionship and would likely do well with a sibling dog of similar size—he does not get along with cats, but enjoys other dogs and children. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and fully house trained. The rescue handles applications with care, requiring a veterinary reference, a home visit, and generally prefers homes with children at least 10 years old (sometimes exceptions made). Bailey is based in Midway City, CA, and is looking for an adopter in Orange County or nearby. Virgos like Bailey tend to be thoughtful, observant, and surprisingly social for their breed. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Bailey
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Bailey, as a shepherd mix, typically thrives in an active household with space to move and attentive owners. A suburban home with a yard suits him well, but he's adaptable if his exercise needs are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Shepherd mixes like Bailey benefit from regular access to a securely fenced yard, but daily walks and active play are even more important for their well-being. He will appreciate room to stretch his legs outside.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Bailey’s shepherd background makes him a good match for families with children, particularly those old enough to respect dog boundaries. He’s approved for homes with kids, though the rescue usually prefers children to be 10 or older.
