About Nellie
Start your journey together! Apply now. Nellie is a lovely Great Pyrenees who has captured the hearts of everyone at BAARK. She came into rescue when her previous owner's circumstances changed, and despite arriving in rough shape, it was clear she’d always known affection. At around 7-8 years old and weighing about 80 pounds, Nellie demonstrates a touch of shyness with newcomers, mostly due to her quiet past with limited social exposure. Patience has been key in Nellie's foster home, where she slowly opened up, guided by the example of her canine companions. Now, she shows her gratitude with kisses and excited tail wags when her foster parents return home. Nellie excels with dogs of all sizes and enjoys keeping watch over her yard and canine siblings, showing true Great Pyrenees vigilance. Her foster family appreciates her sense of alertness, especially when it comes to larger birds overhead. Nellie is housebroken and comfortable staying at home uncrated. After joining the rescue in June, she spent time healing from a benign mass removal on her paw; she travels on three toes but remains perfectly mobile. Overall, Nellie’s health is excellent: she’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on preventative care. She’s now ready to find a family who will cherish her for her gentle soul and devoted nature. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
