Renegade Socially Imperfect
AvailableRenegade is a senior female Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler with a beautiful red and orange coat and a medium build. She currently lives in Richmond, MO and gets along with cats. Renegade is spayed and was born in November, making her a determined Scorpio. She's looking for someone with experience who can help her continue to open up.
About Renegade Socially Imperfect
Renegade's story started in 2015 when she arrived as a feral, unsocialized puppy—quick to defend herself and wary of people. She never simply shut down; instead, she tried to keep anyone and everyone at bay. Over the years, Renegade built trust with her caregivers. Now, she dances with excitement, offers gentle kisses, and accepts pets, though she often cowers at first. Renegade desperately wants affection but those feral instincts linger; with unfamiliar people, she acts tough and defensive, though time, treats, and patience will win her over. Adopters must have skill and commitment; it’s not just about patience but consistency. Renegade will need regular in-person visits—several times a week over a month or more—to build a genuine bond before heading home. She does get along well with other dogs and with cats, and truly enjoys her quiet life at the rescue, but she needs someone willing to put in the work. Renegade is a living reminder that even difficult dogs crave love and have plenty to give. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
