About Lala
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Oohh La La, she really is a pretty girl! Lala is an Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) mix who recently joined Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter. Volunteers are getting to know her, and so far it's clear she's friendly with people but still a bit unsure in her new surroundings. Lala is working on her leash skills and may be housebroken—she's already using the doggy door at the shelter, though keep in mind shelter dogs do have to wait longer between potty breaks. Lala has a strong prey drive, so she'll need a home without small animals. However, she seems to enjoy the company of a male dog at the shelter, so slow and careful introductions are required with any resident or visiting dogs. Due to her uncertainties, Lala is best suited for a home without small children. This intelligent girl needs regular physical and mental challenges to bring out her best. As is typical for Heelers, you can expect loyalty, smarts, and lots of energy from Lala. Updates about her personality will be shared as more is learned. If you're familiar with the breed and willing to give her the time, patience, and enrichment she needs, Lala could be a perfect fit. All adopters must live within a four-hour drive of Parkville, Missouri. FOPAS is a passionate volunteer-run organization committed to finding lifelong homes for their animals.
