Hi there... my name is Bruce, and I’m a new face here at Balch Springs Animal Services. I was found wandering the streets all by myself, scared and unsure. I had a collar, but no one ever came for me. For a while, I didn’t understand why. I’m a little shy when I first meet new people, but once I realize you won’t hurt me, my tail starts to wag and my heart opens right up. The staff here say I’m one of the sweetest boys they’ve met. I love other dogs, and I’m fully vetted and ready to find a home where I can finally feel safe and loved. I’ve heard people say that sometimes black dogs get overlooked in shelters. Maybe it’s because our shiny coats don’t always stand out in pictures. But I hope someone will look past my color and see me — a gentle soul who just wants to be loved.
