About Holly

Start your journey together! Apply now. Holly is a sweet and easy-going Hound who brings joy to every home she's in. At around 8 to 10 years old and weighing about 65 pounds, Holly strikes the perfect balance between being a loving couch companion, a devoted watchdog, and a faithful friend. Her days are filled with relaxing on her cozy beds, strolling outdoors (she's still mastering her leash skills), enjoying car rides, and patrolling the yard to keep pesky wildlife at bay. True to her breed, Holly can be vocal, but her barking is always for a reason—whether it's mealtime, a visitor, or a squirrel tempting fate in the yard. Holly does well with calm, friendly dogs but isn't a fan of overly energetic or intrusive companions, especially during her restful moments. She may do best in a household familiar with Hounds, ideally with a securely fenced yard. While a gentle canine friend might be welcome, Holly is also content as the only dog in a peaceful home. Older children may suit her, but she's not the best match for very young kids. Despite her senior status, Holly is in great health, up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped. If you are local to the NW suburbs of Chicago and looking for a devoted Hound to share your life with, Holly could be your perfect match. This could be the start of something paw-some.
