About Venus
Venus earned her name for a reason—she’s genuinely out-of-this-world cute. She and her siblings were picked up in the country, all five packed into a van, and brought safely to the rescue. Venus is a young Shepherd mix, around four years old, expected to reach 55-65 lbs at full size. She has a medium, red-chestnut coat and carries a gentle, soft manner. There’s a lot of sweetness and intelligence in her, with a dash of shyness when faced with new situations. Her background—growing up with only her siblings before landing at the shelter—means she needs some time to adjust and build her confidence. Venus thrives on play and will need toys, exercise, and plenty of family involvement to keep her engaged. She could use some basic training, especially on leash manners, but she’s a quick learner and wants to please her people. An active home is ideal—one where she’ll get outside for long walks and enjoy a good cuddle at the end of the day. Venus gets along with other dogs and is looking for a family ready for patience and companionship. She’s currently in Sherman, TX, and you’ll need to set up an appointment to meet her.
