About Otto
Start your journey together! Apply now. Otto is ready to brighten up your world with his fun-loving spirit and dog-friendly attitude. At around 16 months old, this black, microchipped, and neutered German Shepherd Dog is fully vetted and on preventatives. Otto’s playful, active style makes him a great companion for other dogs—he enjoys their company and likes to be in the middle of the action, especially with smaller dogs, though he’s gentle rather than rough. He’s crate trained, house trained (no accidents and reliably signals when he needs to go out), and he’s picking up good kitchen manners. Otto rides well in the car and is always interested in joining in on the day’s adventures, eager to bond and participate in whatever you’re doing. Otto can settle nicely after playtime, though he finds a bustling rescue environment a bit stimulating, especially surrounded by energetic German Shepherds. To help him focus and polish his obedience skills, Otto is working with a trainer to build his confidence in the outside world. When he first arrived, Otto was extremely skinny under his fluffy medium coat. After neutering, he temporarily lost much of his fur—a common event for long-haired GSDs—but he’s making an impressive transformation, gaining strength and looking forward to regaining his luxurious coat. With a unique head tilt and a hypermetric gait, Otto’s neurological health was checked by specialists and found to be perfectly healthy; he was simply born with these distinguishing features, and they only add to his charm. Otto has a loving, innocent spirit and is eager to find his perfect match—a family or adopter who can offer him one-on-one interaction in a devoted home. If you’re ready for a loyal and joyful companion, Otto could be your perfect love match. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
