About Winter
Winter needs either a foster or an adopter soon. She's a six-year-old, deaf pit mix who's lost her foster home due to someone else's life changes. She doesn't understand why things keep shifting, just that now she's facing losing the only safe place she's known in a long time. Winter is incredibly sensitive and intuitive. She may not hear, but she feels connection through kindness and touch. Once she trusts you, she truly gives her whole heart. She's longing for a calm home, a soft spot to unwind, and a person who will stick by her. Ideally, she would be the only pet: a home where she can finally relax feels like paradise to her. She might adjust to a mellow male dog with careful introductions, but a peaceful, single-pet setup suits her best. She isn't looking for chaos—just a steady place to belong. Winter is housebroken, crate trained, and happiest with one or two walks a day. She thrives around gentle older kids (6+), but isn’t a fit for homes with cats. She practically has "professional nap companion" on her resume and weighs in at 60 pounds of soft, solid affection. Deafness hasn’t stopped her from being deeply intuitive—she finds comfort through routine and your presence. Many skip past profiles like hers, but Winter is every bit as deserving of safety and love. She's now in Baltimore, MD, and for the right home, transport help may be possible in the surrounding area. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
