About Ares

Ares is a striking black Australian Kelpie, nearly four years old, looking for a fresh start after being rescued from the streets of San Antonio. He’s a lively, affectionate dog who thrives on activity and fun. Ares loves darting around the yard and rarely runs out of enthusiasm—his adventurous side makes even ordinary days interesting. He’s also a natural guardian, alert and always aware of what’s going on around him, making him both a loving companion and a reliable watch dog. This dog gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy sharing his days with a canine friend. However, he’s not a match for homes with cats. He is not yet house trained, so a patient adopter will need to continue his training. Currently, Ares is settling into foster care in Huntington, NY, where he’s ready to meet his match.
