An Aussiedoodle is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, so size and looks vary a lot. Toys and minis stay under about 35 pounds, while standards can reach 70. Coats are usually wavy or curly and come in many colors, including merle. Because each dog mixes two parents differently, coat type and shedding are never guaranteed.
Both parent breeds are clever working dogs, and most Aussiedoodles share that drive. Many are affectionate, quick to learn and happiest with a job, like agility, hiking or daily trick practice. Without enough exercise and mental work, they can turn restless, vocal or clingy. In a dense city like NYC, that means building enrichment into every day, along with brushing at home and professional grooming every six to eight weeks.
