An Aussiedoodle is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, a mix that has grown popular across North America in recent decades. Size follows the Poodle parent, from toy dogs around 15 pounds to standards near 70, which matters when you're choosing between a Newark walk-up and a house with a yard. Coats are usually wavy or curly and come in many colors, including merle.
Both parent breeds are clever, energetic working dogs, and many Aussiedoodles share that drive. They tend to be affectionate and eager to learn, but they can turn restless, vocal or clingy without enough exercise and mental work. Plan on frequent brushing and professional grooming every six to eight weeks. In a city of shared walls, bored barking carries, so training matters.
