The Pomsky is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky, a newcomer that appeared around 2012 after a wave of online interest. Many look like a compact Husky, with a plush double coat, a masked face, upright ears and a curled tail, though adult size and looks are hard to predict. Most land somewhere between 15 and 30 pounds.
In San Diego, that coat and a big personality are the main things to plan around. Pomskies tend to be bright, playful and devoted, with a talkative streak and a stubborn side, and some struggle with being alone. They shed heavily and aren't recognized by major kennel clubs, so a dog's own history and behavior say more than its parentage. Many end up in shelters as young adults whose energy outgrew expectations.
