Applehead Siamese is the popular name for the traditional, old-style Siamese, a sturdier, rounder-headed cat than the long, wedge-headed Siamese of today's show rings. It echoes how Siamese cats from Thailand looked when they first reached the West, and some registries recognize the type separately as the Thai. Many cats called appleheads are simply pointed cats of Siamese ancestry.
Expect a pale body with darker points, vivid blue eyes, a short coat that needs little care and a big personality. These cats are talkative, playful and clever, and many dislike long stretches alone. In a city where long days out are common, that matters more than the coat. Each cat is different, so spend time with one before deciding.
