This adorable Pit Bull and Pug mix (or maybe she’s a magical unicorn in disguise? 🦄) weighs in at a charming 36 pounds of pure cuteness. Zyla’s journey has been a little rocky. Rescued from the amazing folks at SCRATCH while they were tackling a local trap-neuter-return project, Zyla has a story to tell. She spent her early days in a small pen with three other big dogs and had a litter of nine precious puppies. Unfortunately, only one little pup survived, but don’t worry—she found a loving home, while Zyla has been soaking up love and kindness in her foster home. This darling girl might be a tad shy and easily startled, but she’s learning to spread her wings! She’s made fantastic friends with our lobby dogs AJ, Nakoa, and Skyy. Watching her follow their lead and greet new people warms the heart. She’s blossoming, folks! Just the other day, she was found snoozing at the feet of our front desk superstar, Janet. Isn’t that just precious? 😍 So, here’s the scoop from Zyla herself: “Hi, I’m Zyla! Life got tough, but I’m learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. Cheese? Oh, honey, let me tell you—cheese is the key to my heart! 🧀 I’ve mastered the art of ‘gentle paw on the arm’ which guarantees petting every time (those puppy dog eyes work like magic!).” During her recent stay in a foster home, Zyla made great strides—she learned to strut on a leash like a queen, got acquainted with the quirky sounds of a home, and discovered the cozy bliss of snuggling in a big bed with a caring human. Isn’t that what we all dream of? Zyla is on the lookout for a patient and loving human who understands that she’ll need a little time to adjust to new experiences like car rides and meeting new friends. But once she trusts you, love will follow in leaps and bounds! Meet and greets, as well as adoptions, are by appointment only from Wednesday to Sunday, 12 - 5 PM. The adoption fee is just $135, and that includes a slew of goodies: a free veterinary exam, up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventative care, a microchip, and spaying or neutering!
