About Ham
🌟 **Meet Ham!** 🌟 Once known as Clarabelle, this adorable lady has earned a name that reflects her fabulous, squishy personality and adorable body type! If you’re looking for a loving companion with a pinch of hilarity, Ham is the one for you. At around 10 years young, Ham has a backstory that could make anyone’s heart swell with compassion. Rescued as a stray from Philly’s animal control, it’s suspected that her original owner didn’t have the best intentions when surrendering her. Poor Ham entered the shelter lactating, bearing bite wounds, and suffering from pressure sores on her legs. The stress of shelter life quickly led to severe pneumonia. But, oh boy, did fate have a delightful twist in store for her! 💖 Her adorable face rallied the hearts of a loving foster family, who whisked her off to the ER where she began her journey to recovery with City of Elderly Love. And guess what? She’s now thriving! Since arriving at the rescue in December 2024, Ham has transformed beautifully. Gone are the days of struggle; now, she’s a spunky, joyful girl who balances her love for zoomies with a knack for cozying up under a heated blanket on those chilly nights. 🥰 Ham is a social butterfly who adores meeting new folks! While she hasn’t spent much time with kids, she seems like she’d fit right into a home with older children who won’t mind an energetic house hippo zooming past during playtime. Ham is living the good life on a charming small hobby farm alongside various animals, but here’s the scoop: she would actually prefer to be the sole star of her own show!🌟 She can be a bit sassy around other dogs and might show too much enthusiasm for smaller critters during walks, so a home without pets would suit her just fine. Picture this: Ham lounging in a sunny yard, taking leisurely strolls in a peaceful park—pure bliss, right? Let’s talk about her little quirks! Ham has a healed torn CCL in her knee that occasionally causes some arthritis. But fear not—she’s more active than ever! A daily glucosamine/joint supplement will keep her sprightly, and maybe a little extra pain management as she gracefully ages. Just like many pitties, she experiences some itchiness and does well with allergy meds, especially around peak seasons. Ham's transformation is nothing short of a miracle, and she’s feeling better than ever. With all her medical needs addressed, she’s now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and —let's not forget— perfectly house-trained! 🐾 So, lovely people, if you’re interested in giving Ham the forever home she deserves, apply through the **Buddy App** today!
