About Amy
Meet the delightful Amy, a true gem who was rescued from a shelter in the sunny Gulf area of Alabama! The wonderful staff at the shelter couldn't help but fall head over heels for her charm and charisma, and fought tirelessly to see her flourish in a loving home. 🌟 Now, if you’re looking for a pup who’s as photogenic as she is adorable, Amy is the girl for you! This little lady loves her selfies and knows how to flash a dazzling smile, always ready to pose for the camera. Say cheese! 📸 But let’s not forget that she’s also a professional snuggler; she will snuggle up on your lap, showering you with love and a gazillion kisses! 😘 Now, here's the scoop: Amy was born with a congenital condition that led to a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to improve her hip mobility. Currently, she has a slight limp and is on some anti-inflammatory meds. But don’t fret! Her recovery is going splendidly. Though she may not be a marathon runner, she is regaining nearly full function of her leg and even has time to wiggle her way into your heart! 🐾 In fact, one of our amazing volunteers, Heather, tells us that Amy has been practicing a new Olympic event called Wiggling! This enthusiastic gal loves to roll around on her back and wiggle all the way down the hill. It's her favorite game, and she can’t wait for some teammates to join in on the fun! 🎉 With her incredibly soft fur and big, brown, kind eyes, Amy is a gentle, affectionate soul. She takes treats delicately and does everything with poise and grace. A leash? No problem! She’s great on it and enjoys meeting new furry friends. Just picture her, lounging in the grass, soaking up praise and basking in the sunshine. ☀️ At about 14 months old and weighing in at 65 lbs, this Golden/Lab mix will be a devoted and fun companion. She's already been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Amy will be ready to find her forever home in the Northeast by mid-March! Potential adopters should understand that rescued dogs come with various needs—medical, emotional, and behavioral. By welcoming Amy into your family, you are committing to continuing the rehabilitation she has already begun. 💖 So if you're ready to open your heart and your home to this sweet girl, don't wait!
