The Applehead Siamese is the traditional, old-style Siamese, with a rounder head and sturdier body than the long, wedge-headed Siamese of modern cat shows. Some registries recognize the type separately as the Thai, though plenty of cats called appleheads are simply pointed cats of Siamese ancestry. Expect a pale body, darker points on the face, ears, legs and tail, and vivid blue eyes.
Personality is the draw. Many are talkative, clever and glued to their people, following them from room to room and asking loudly for attention. Most weigh 8 to 14 pounds and have a short, low-maintenance coat. In Omaha, where winters keep everyone indoors for long stretches, that need for company and play matters, so a home with someone around often is a good match.
