The Oriental Long Hair has the long, tubular body, wedge-shaped head and oversized ears of the Siamese family, with a fine, semi-long coat and a plumed tail. It was developed from the Oriental Shorthair, and without a woolly undercoat the silky coat lies close to the body and rarely mats. Unlike the pointed Siamese and Balinese, it comes in solids, smokes, tabbies, tortoiseshells and bicolors, usually with green eyes.
These cats are typically social, talkative and smart, and many want a front-row seat to everything their people do. Cats vary, but plenty dislike long stretches alone. In Grand Rapids, where long winters keep everyone indoors, that means daily play, climbing space and company. Expect conversation, and a cat that may follow you from room to room.
