About Opal

Opal is an extraordinary 8-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix, weighing only about 12 pounds. This little girl had a rough start in life; she was found in a pet fair after being abandoned and scared, often snapping at anyone who approached her. Fortunately, our dedicated trainer evaluated her and recognized her potential for rehabilitation. Upon rescue, Opal faced several health issues, including rotten teeth and painful bladder stones that made her life unbearable. Her surgery has since changed everything for her. With her health issues addressed, Opal now displays a joyful spirit, hopping around with happiness in her foster home. Now ready for her forever home, Opal gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a household with at least one canine buddy. She's particularly fond of her foster mom's son and shows great comfort around men and older kids, making her a wonderful companion. If you believe you can provide Opal with the love and care she truly deserves, please fill out an application from our website.
