Poppi has recently wrapped up her motherly duties, raising her puppies until they all found loving homes. Now, it’s her time to shine. She showed up as a stray on a farm in northeast Alabama, and after a close call with euthanasia at a local shelter, she was taken in by a caring family. Once settled, they discovered she was expecting, ultimately giving birth to nine puppies, of which five survived. At about 3 to 4 years old, Poppi has a gentle soul that takes some time to warm up to new people. With a little patience, her affectionate nature shines through, transforming her into a loyal companion. It didn’t take long for her foster to win her love—Poppi now greets her with excitement every time she arrives home. Though she initially feels defensive around other dogs, she is very fond of puppies and might even welcome a younger dog once she's comfortable. Poppi enjoys neighborhood strolls, does well on a leash, and is house trained, but she does have a slight tendency to chase cars and squirrels, which should be monitored. A fenced yard would be an ideal haven for her outdoor time.
