Born in San Diego to a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix mama and an unknown dad, Berttie has thrived in a loving foster environment since April. He's grown close to children of various ages and other dogs, adding to his already fabulous personality. His foster parent describes him as a spunky companion who adores snuggling. Berttie fits well in a bustling home, getting along great with two boys aged 3 and 12 and a pair of shepherds. While he needs time to warm up to new people, his sweet nature shines once he feels safe. Berttie is crate trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and was house trained in just weeks. Smart and eager to learn, he listens well to basic commands and is being gently guided through leash training. Like many puppies, he loves to chew and play, but with supervision and appropriate toys, he’s content to entertain himself. He shows a surprisingly calm side when not playing, happily roaming around the home.
