Meet Kensy! This delightful 3-year-old, 46 lb Belgian Malinois mix was rescued from an overcrowded Houston shelter and has been thriving since making her escape. Spayed, vaccinated, and fully house and crate trained, she is all set to find her forever family. Kensy is intelligent, active, and forms deep bonds with her humans. While she may be a bit unsure around strangers at first, her affectionate nature shines through once she trusts you. Public outings reveal her wonderful behavior; she takes everything in stride. With an energetic spirit, Kensy adores playing fetch and would thrive in a home that enjoys staying active together. She smoothly walks on a leash, loves to swim, and navigates stairs effortlessly. On top of all this, she rides well in the car, secured safely with a seatbelt. She coexists peacefully with other dogs and expects the same respect in return. Though not overly playful with her canine counterparts, she has gained confidence since her rescue and shows no signs of resource guarding. As a smart working breed, she requires an experienced owner who understands her needs. Kensy will do best in a home with a yard and active lifestyle, so she won’t be left alone for long stretches. Though her crate training is excellent, she can be clever enough to escape standard crates, so a heavy-duty one is advisable.
